Coleman was born in Blackpool Lancashire. She studied at Arnold School in Blackpool. She was a headgirl and earned straight A grades for her A Levels. In discussing her Emmerdale character, Coleman expressed regret for not attending a university. When she was at school, Coleman was a member of a theatre company called In Yer Space with whom she performed at the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. An award was presented to her for her performance, while the play was received well. Coleman won the Emmerdale part of Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with the drama school. Coleman received two nominations in 2007. In 2007, Coleman was nominated for two awards: the British Soap Awards as the Best Newcomer, and the National Television Awards as the Most Popular. In 2009, she was awarded nominated in the two categories including Best Actress-Sexiest Female as well as Best Performance Dramatic. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March press conference on the show that Coleman will be Matt Smith's companion following the departure of Karen Gillan left. Moffat chose her for the role due to her ability to work well with Smith and could talk faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been on the scene for more than 30 years and is involved with numerous film and TV projects. The most popular of her work is her work on television than in film. Of all the characters Eva has played on TV shows, Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children and Detective Natalia Boa Vista' in CSI Miami are the two that stand out. The latter even garnered her two 'Daytime Emmy' nominations as well as gave her the chance to explore her creativity in music. Eva is an entrepreneur, in addition to an actress. She was married three times and is the mother of a child from her second husband.
